Motorola Razr 50 review

The Motorola Razr 50 is a huge success, fixing almost all of the issues with the first affordable foldable Motorola Razr 50 phone while matching the premium Razr 50 Ultra in key ways. It’s not a perfect foldable phone, but it ticks a lot of boxes for £799/$799.
Not only does it offer a huge upgrade to the cover display, but users can also enjoy improved camera technology, new AI smarts and improved performance while still keeping it more affordable.
The fact that it outperforms the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 in key ways and is a more affordable alternative to Samsung’s premium clamshell foldable phone makes it particularly interesting. With the Razr 40, we had a number of complaints about its overall build quality compared to the flagship 40 Ultra, with our reviewer noting that the Fold’s screen actually squeaks when unfolded.
That’s not the case with the new model, however, which feels just as solid and premium as the Ultra model and features a redesigned hinge mechanism, though it still doesn’t feel as sturdy as the Z Flip 6 and its rock-solid construction. The Razr 50 has the same levels of protection as the higher-end Razr 50 Ultra, including covered screen protection in the form of Corning’s premium Gorilla Glass Victus, and IPX8 water resistance, meaning it can survive being submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes without breaking a sweat.
While this means the Ultra model suffers from reduced dust resistance, the regular Razr 40 didn’t offer any official IP rating, so improved dust resistance is a welcome addition here — especially in the more affordable realm of foldable phones, which are prone to drops from the elements. Take a look at the Nubia Flip 5G and you’ll see what I mean. It’s worth noting that it uses an LTPO panel that can downclock to 1Hz to saveMotorola Razr 50 phone battery life, a feature not available on many similarly priced candy-bar phones, let alone foldable phones.
The good news is that the redesigned hinge mechanism has managed to significantly reduce the crease on the foldable screen. Sure, it’s still there if you look at it from the side, but from the front, you won’t notice anything – and the dent is shallower than on products like Samsung, so you won’t notice much when you run your finger across it. Its main camera is the same as the one in the high-end Razr 50 Ultra. This means that, like the high-end model, the Razr 50 can take some very impressive photos. Photos taken in daylight are vivid and detailed, and while some colors (especially greens and blues) have a slightly unnatural tint, it does make the photos taken very eye-catching. The 4200mAh

(200mAh larger than the Razr 40 Ultra, by the way) plus the combination of the LTPO display and the power-efficient chipset make the Razr 50 easily last a full day, especially with the more convenient cover display, which means you don’t always have to use the more power-hungry 6.9-inch panel.
While 30W charging may not sound all that impressive, especially when premium foldables like the OnePlus Open offer 67W fast charging, don’t let that fool you; using the 33W charger included in the box, you’ll see 50% charge in 25 minutes, and a full charge takes less than an hour.
There’s also 15W wireless charging – a surprise given the foldable’s lower price, but a welcome one nonetheless

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 review: An affordable 2-in-1 laptop worth having

One thing Lenovo does very well is make laptops. They’re usually light, thin, stylish, and powerful, depending on the model you buy. The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 2-in-1 offers some pretty decent specs while also being able to switch to tablet mode when you want to use it in a simpler mode.


SpecificationThe Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 2-in-1 laptop has the following features and specs (available in multiple models): DesignLenovo’s laptops have become more stylish and attractive over the years, and design has become their strong point. One thing to note is that touch screens are fingerprint magnets. I find myself cleaning the screen more often than necessary, but that’s what happens when you use a touch screen a lot, and it’s inherent to most touchscreen monitors.

There are a lot of games installed by default (thanks Microsoft!) and you can always uninstall them if you don’t want to use them.sound qualityThe Flex 6 14 features 2x 2-watt Dobly Audio speakers, which are pointed downwards to hit the surface the laptop is sitting on. They sound good, but are on the quiet end of the spectrum. At night I set the volume to 10 and couldn’t hear the sound as clearly as I would with a 2017 Surface Pro. Sure, it has front-facing speakers, but since the laptop is on a flat surface and the sound is pushed downwards and outwards, it still sounds a little too quiet for me. There was no noticeable muffled or distorted sound when using the Flex 14.
cameraThe IdeaPad Flex 14 uses a 720p webcam and even has a webcam shutter for privacy. The photo results are pretty good for a standard webcam on a laptop. Nothing to write home about, but good enough for casual video chats. IdeaPad Flex 14 laptop battery lifeFlex 14 specs suggest the battery will last up to 8 hours on a single charge. During this review, I got about 5 and a half hours of use on a single charge a day. This includes website content writing, video and photo editing, gaming and streaming.

Battery life on this laptop is already pretty good, charging up to 80% in about an hour using the included fast charger. It’s not USB Type-C for charging, but regular proprietary charging will do the job just fine.

At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 2-in-1 is a great laptop and worth buying. You can’t ignore the affordable starting price of $359.99 and the specs it comes with. Sure, there are some drawbacks you can overlook, like slow startup times or too quiet sound quality, but everything else makes up for them. I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a laptop on a budget that doesn’t require much power.

At first glance, Sennheiser’s new Momentum True Wireless 2 look pretty much the same as their predecessor, but don’t be fooled into thinking the German manufacturer is resting on its laurels.
Its second-generation true wireless earbuds improve on the original with active noise cancellation (ANC), significantly improved battery life, and a slimmer design that puts them on par with the best true wireless earbuds on the market.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: What you need to know
Like most true wireless earbuds, the Sennheiser True Wireless 2 come with a case that both protects the earbuds and charges the batteries of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earbuds when not in use. Sennheiser claims the earbuds will last up to seven hours on a single charge, with an additional 21 hours when using the case, which itself charges via USB-C. Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: What You Need to KnowLike most true wireless earbuds, the Sennheiser True Wireless 2 come with a case that both protects the earbuds and charges them when not in use. Like the previous generation, they also automatically pause when you remove either earbud from your ear.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: Price and CompetitionThe True Wireless 2 has a list price of £280, the same as its predecessor when it launched. However, at the time of writing, the older model is available for a lower price of £190, so if you’re willing to give up ANC and longerSennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 battery life, you might want to consider buying one.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Headphone battery : Design, Comfort and AppsDespite Sennheiser’s claims of improved ergonomics for its True Wireless earbuds, in reality, the design has barely changed since the first version, aside from being noticeably smaller. In many ways, that’s a good thing, but when it comes to comfort, I was impressed.
Because of the large housing, it can take a little while to find the best angle to insert the earbuds into your ear canal at first. Once I got the hang of it, though, I had no trouble inserting the earbuds and was happy to wear them for hours at a time.
If I have one complaint about the design of these earbuds, it’s the same one Christopher Minasians had with the first-generation Momentum True Wireless earbuds: the finicky nature of the touch controls. The steepness of the learning curve is more irritating with these earbuds than anything else. In fact, because you need to have fairly precise and nimble fingers, I initially found myself tapping the right earbud once to activate Google Assistant, or twice to enable Transparency mode, rather than tapping three times to turn ANC on and off.
You can also turn the earbuds’ various smart features on or off through the mobile app. The Smart Pause feature, which automatically pauses music when you remove an earbud from your ear, is enabled by default, as is the Auto Answer Call feature, which answers calls as soon as you remove the right earbud from the charging case. Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: Sound Quality, Transparency Mode, and ConnectivityThe mobile app also allows you to customize the earbuds’ EQ, which is a nice feature if you’re someone who likes to tinker with this sort of thing, but I didn’t find it necessary.
When reviewing the original, Chris declared them the best-sounding true wireless earphones he’d ever heard, and after a few days with the True Wireless 2, I can say the same about the new model.
Unsurprisingly, with the hardware remaining largely unchanged, the True Wireless 2s are every bit as impressive as their predecessors. More specifically, they offer a sense of space that belies their design, and have excellent instrument separation that helps make for a truly engaging listening experience. The feature is undoubtedly a welcome addition, but the effect wanes as the volume increases, more so than with over-ear or in-ear headphones. If you’re the type of person who always listens to music loudly, then this feature may not be essential for you.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: ReviewAside from these and a few other minor quibbles, I’ve been very happy with my experience with the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2s. In fact, I haven’t bought any other earphones, wireless or otherwise, since receiving them, which is a testament to how good the sound quality and comfort of these earphones are.

Asus laptop design is going well at the moment. The Zenbook S13 and Zenbook Duo are excellent examples of the laptop designer’s art. The new S16 is more sober, as it’s aimed at a professional audience, but it’s still a very refined and balanced machine, with thin screen edges and discreet lighting. Helpfully, the screen rotates 180 degrees, and the matte blue and neutral black colors seem to be available worldwide, but the UK seems destined to only get the former. If you were asked to describe the color of the mist blue model, you’d choose the word “silver”. In any case, the matte paint resists greasy fingerprints very well.Asus Vivobook S16: specs and performanceThe Vivobook S16 comes in two models: one with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor and another with a Core Ultra 9 185H, but the latter won’t be released in the UK. The keyboard layout is standard, with only the Windows emoji selector on the F8 key and a dedicated CoPilot launch key to the right of the spacebar worth mentioning. The four cursor keys are in the middle, which isn’t ideal, but isn’t uncommon either.The keyboard has three levels of RGB backlighting, which you can manage through Windows’ Dynamic Lighting control panel. There are no per-key options, so you can only choose from five preset effect modes or have the entire keyboard a solid color. The graphics on the keys are translucent, which means the backlighting isn’t the clearest you’ve ever seen, but that’s a minor issue. The webcam can record video at 1080p/30fs, has a manual privacy shutter, and has built-in Windows Hello facial recognition (it’s the only biometric security feature, as the Vivobook S16 doesn’t have a fingerprint reader). Image quality is excellent in good lighting conditions, and doesn’t degrade too much in the dark. Of course, it also comes with the full suite of Windows Studio effects, allowing you to blur backgrounds, keep framing centered, and maintain eye contact no matter how you squirm in your seat.

Samsung’s Galaxy S Plus series has always been somewhere between the refined looks of the entry-level models and the comprehensiveness of the Ultra series.
