ASUS continues to experiment with form factors. After launching the unusual gaming ultrabook convertible ASUS ROG Flow X13 last year, the Flow series now returns with the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (2022) gaming tablet. It’s a very interesting, unique, but rather niche device.

1. More Forgiving SoundFrankly, we wouldn’t drastically change the sound of the current Flip 6. It’s lively, full and vibrant, and the audio profile feels energetic and musical. We also lamented the fact that you couldn’t use the Flip 6 to make calls (no built-in mic, sadly) and that there was no 3.5mm auxiliary input for wired listening when the battery was dead, so these are new additions we’re happy to see. After all, the auxiliary input hasn’t gone away, has it?!

5. Optimizing the designThere are some parts of the Flip series that can’t really be changed. For example, going larger is not recommended, as it would go against its portable design philosophy, and any smaller size would affect the size of the drivers used in the Flip. If you want a larger speaker (and higher performance), you can always opt for the Charge 5 or Xtreme 3.
That’s not to say the Flip 6’s design can’t be improved. There’s a chance that the entire series is getting a little stale, so perhaps some visual and practical tweaks, such as more device controls or more exciting colorways, would add some visual flair to an already pleasing composition. The device’s IP rating isn’t perfect – the Flip 6’s IPX7 rating doesn’t account for dust getting into the device, so a design change to allow it to receive IP67 (or similar) certification would be desirable, especially to give users peace of mind when taking the Flip 7 to the beach.
