The Galaxy Z Fold 7 reportedly brings these upgrades but still uses the same battery

The Galaxy Z Foold 7 could launch sometime in 2025 with a new S Pen and a thinner overall design. There’s no word on pricing yet, though we can expect a price increase due to the addition of an AES-equipped S Pen.

The Galaxy Z Fold series has been slowly gaining momentum in recent years, with 2024’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 offering some welcome updates but ultimately falling flat compared to competing foldables. Samsung appears to have some real upgrades in store for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Recent reports are starting to converge, pointing to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 adopting some elements from last year’s Galaxy Z Fold SE. These include a thinner design, a larger display, and changes to how the S Pen works for the sake of a thinner form factor.

This is also consistent with the Galaxy Z Fold SE, which also has a 4,400 mAhGalaxy Z Fold SE battery. Samsung also seems keen to make some changes. According to the latest leak (from ETNews), Samsung may completely ditch the digitizer for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This means that the S Pen as we know it will not work in the same way. The new S Pen design will work like the Apple Pencil, and instead of interacting with an extra pen in the phone, it will send signals in an electric field. The whistleblower Setsuna Digital reiterated these claims on Weibo, while adding that Samsung will also bring other upgrades, including an improved hinge (and possible display crease), improvements to the main camera and under-screen camera, and better water/dust resistance. These are all long overdue upgrades to the device, and they all fall in line with the Galaxy Z Fold SE, which has an 8-inch display and a 200MP main camera.
