The charging dock can be a small, brick-sized object that you can lean against a wall to place the robot, but this one is absolutely massive.
This is because it’s incredibly versatile. Lately, we’ve seen many models combine a charging dock with a built-in vacuum, emptying the contents of the robot’s collection bin into auxiliary bags inside the dock. These bags can hold more than the robot’s collection bin, eliminating the need to empty the bin after each cleaning.
Once you define a map, you can turn on the robot and start cleaning. The app automatically divides and names the map into zones, but you can divide, merge, and rename zones as needed. You can also easily define keep-out zones and boundaries to keep the robot away from potential problem areas.
The control panel offers additional controls, allowing you to control the vacuum’s power and water flow. You can also control the cleaning intensity (whether multiple cleanings are performed and how intense the cleaning cycles are) and configure routines that can be assigned to perform automated cleaning tasks.

However, most of the base station’s space is taken up by two four-liter water tanks. These are used to fill the robot with fresh water, clean the accessories after cleaning, and collect dirty water at the end of the cleaning process. Because the base will come into contact with water, it has plastic feet that the robot can roll onto to charge. This protects your floors from spills from the cleaning accessories and residual moisture.
Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni Review: Is it worth buying? The Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni is feature-rich. Performance issues are minimal, and the app is excellent. Its object detection also puts it on par with the Roomba J7. Combined with its best-in-class cleaning performance, it’s a clear winner. This robot significantly reduces the amount of vacuuming and mopping I need to do compared to any other robot I’ve tested to date.
