Why is it said that the iPhone will no longer have an iPhone Mini!

There are two simple reasons to explain why?

On the one hand, Apple faces a lot of competition in its iPhone product line.

Take the iPhone 11 as an example, it is about $100 cheaper than the iPhone 12 Mini. Although the iPhone 11 is almost two years old, the price of $600 is still unbelievable. Apple’s 2019 iPhone is equipped with a 6.1-inch screen, stable battery life, excellent cameras and fast performance because it runs on the relatively new A13 bionic processor. It lacks 5G connectivity, MagSafe support, and Apple’s more durable ceramic shielding coating, but in other respects it has many of the same advantages as the iPhone 12 (the following are all the main differences between iPhone 11 and iPhone 12).

For those who want the cheapest iPhone without sacrificing performance, there is also the $399 iPhone SE. It has a compact design similar to the iPhone 8, which means it lacks Face ID and Apple’s more modern borderless design. But it is currently the only iPhone equipped with Touch ID, and thanks to its A13 bionic processor, it still provides sufficient power for phones of the same price and size.

In other words, in Apple’s iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 series, Mini has no real place. It’s not cheap enough to be a cheap phone like the iPhone SE, and it’s not enough to differentiate it from Phone 11.

Another major obstacle is that people simply prefer phones with larger screens. From the report analysis company Flurry and consumer intelligence research partners also stated that the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro was the largest and most popular Apple 2020 model mobile phone at the time.

Patrick pointed out in his iPhone 12 Mini review that some people may find that the device’s smaller screen is not suitable for typing, reading, and viewing documents—a key task that many people use their phones to complete every day. Smaller size also means smaller batteries, and therefore shorter battery life. This is a compromise. I’m not sure if many people are willing to trade for a smaller screen and a lower price.

In addition, the compact design of the iPhone 12 Mini may not be as valuable in a year when many people spend most of their time at home. When you are not going anywhere, who cares about having a more portable phone?

Finally, large-size smartphones are not new, which means that most Apple customers may have adapted to the shift to larger screens. A mobile phone with a 6.1-inch screen was considered big in 2014, but today this is just the norm. So maybe you were upset in 2014, but today you are used to it and you might even want a bigger screen.
