Both halves of this laptop are well-made and well-designed, with an all-aluminum body that looks seamless when closed and feels very solid when separated. In short, this is probably the sturdiest laptop I’ve ever used, which can only be a good thing. It feels great.
Limited ports and Smart Connect Connecting the two halves is the Smart Connector, which drives the display and camera of the Windows PC in the dock, as well as the keyboard, trackpad, and power supply for the tablet. The touch feels very smooth and responsive. Just like the keyboard, it works on both Android and Windows, and in Android it has the advantage of properly replacing certain touch actions. I can scroll up with two fingers to open my app drawer, or scroll down to see my notifications. The biggest problem with using a trackpad on Android is that there is no palm rejection, so whenever you type, you move the mouse or click places you don’t want to click, thus messing up what you are writing. I initially wanted to measure the  Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid Laptop Battery life by using Android for a full day, but ultimately I had to abandon the idea.
Considering the crazy concept we are going with here, Lenovo really did a great job with this device, and I love it. It’s not the most versatile laptop for work or travel, but it is a versatile machine that I can’t help but love.

The ProBook is billed as the lightest AMD business laptop. It starts at 0.99 kg, thanks to an all-metal body made of magnesium and aluminum. The laptop I reviewed came with the larger 53 Wh hP ProBook laptop battery
(there’s also a lighter 42 Wh battery option), which weighed about 1.1 kg. This isn’t the thinnest laptop I’ve tested, but it’s as light as most consumer-grade models. Unlike some laptops, the front of the ProBook doesn’t press into my palm when it rests on the palm rest. The ProBook also comes with a fingerprint sensor and an infrared Windows Hello facial recognition camera (with a privacy shutter). Alternatively, you can set up other authentication methods, such as Bluetooth devices or security questions, through the preinstalled HP Client Security app. This app also allows you to configure other HP security features, such as Sure Start (a self-healing BIOS) and Sure Recover (system recovery). But the most notable security feature is Sure View Reflect, an integrated privacy screen. Press F2 to enable it, which dims the screen. It’s also less likely that someone next to you will be able to see what’s on the screen, because the viewing angle is also severely reduced. The bad news: Even with Sure View Reflect disabled, the screen’s viewing angles and overall visibility are worse than a standard IPS display. In short, the ProBook’s screen may be difficult to see when used outdoors during the day. The ProBook’s other features are also suitable for business users: a comfortable backlit keyboard that doesn’t feel soft, good wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi 6 and optional LTE), and a good selection of ports (two USB Type-A, HDMI, and one USB-C). What I didn’t expect was that the ProBook has dual front-facing speakers, which are surprisingly good for a laptop.
The HP ProBook 635 Aero G7, powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 4700U chip, scored 4,611 on PCMark 10. That’s slightly lower than the Razer Book 13 (4,909), which has a newer Intel processor. More importantly, the ProBook didn’t get as hot as the Razer Ultrabook during the benchmark. Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 processors, also known as Lunar Lake, are carrying a lot of weight. After the release of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X-series earlier this year, it became clear that Intel (and AMD) couldn’t match the performance that the Arm architecture could deliver. Add to that the other troubles Intel is facing, and the company is in a pretty tenuous position.
The biggest threat to Intel right now is Qualcomm with its Snapdragon X-series chipsets. Laptops powered by Snapdragon are proving that it’s possible to achieve great performance while still having excellent  Asus Zenbook S 14 battery life when powered. When I reviewed the Asus Vivobook S 15, I saw in Geekbench 6 that the results were nearly identical in both Best Performance and Balanced power modes, whether plugged in or using the Asus Vivobook S 15 battery.
Beyond that, Asus has built a great laptop, the Zenbook S 14. It’s an ultra-thin, ultra-slim, premium-feeling laptop that’s impeccable in every way. It’s the start of a new generation of Intel laptops, and it’s a great one. The Asus Zenbook S 14 utilizes what Asus calls “Ceraluminum” for the lid. Asus uses a special treatment to turn the aluminum into a “high-tech ceramic” that makes the material much more scratch-resistant while keeping aluminum relatively lightweight.

Asus really blew me away with its Zenbook 14 OLED keyboard, which I reviewed back in January, so I knew what to expect this time around. The Zenbook S 14 comes with a really good keyboard that’s very comfortable to type on without any weird awkward moments. If you swipe up or down on the right side, you can change the display brightness, while using the left side you can change the volume. You can also browse videos by swiping along the top, and launch the Asus ScreenXpert app by swiping inwards from the top right. This laptop also offers great audio through its quad-speaker setup. Like the Zenbook 14 OLED I reviewed earlier, the Zenbook S 14 delivers surprisingly powerful audio for its thin chassis, with no noticeable distortion at high volumes.
