Long battery life The build is well-made and durable, but not as premium as expected—it’s made from the same recycled aluminum as the Envy x360. While it’s still nice, it doesn’t feel as good as the HP EliteBook Ultra 14 G1q, which is also made from recycled aluminum. The OmniBook Ultra 14’s pastel-toned keyboard is responsive and offers plenty of force feedback.
That means you can trust the OmniBook to handle any compiling or AI workloads that require a decent GPU. Its TB SSD also hits read speeds of 7,163 MB/s and write speeds of 6,502 MB/s. That makes it one of the fastest internal SSDs we’ve tested, so it’s a great choice for massive data transfers, including any media files. At 16 hours and 14 minutes, the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 Smart Laptop also has pretty good HP OmniBook Ultra 14 Smart Laptop Battery life — a few hours less than HP’s official 22-hour life claim, but still plenty of use between charges. Thanks to the chipset’s integrated 50-TOPS NPU, this laptop comes with a slew of AI software tools, including a large language model built in in the name of the HP AI Companion app — but most of them are very limited and can’t be used right away. We did enjoy using the Poly Camera Pro to improve image quality during video calls, though. There’s also a very subtle switch above the 9-megapixel camera that mutes the video when not in use.
There’s a lot to like about the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 — including great battery life and incredible performance — but the shoddy display and disappointing keyboard make it even more annoying, not to mention there are more portable laptops on the market. If you have the budget, consider the HP EliteBook Ultra 14 G1q. It’s well-designed, well-built, and has a great experience, andHP EliteBook Ultra 14 G1q batterylife is also excellent. It’s worth noting, though, that its screen is dimmer than this machine’s, so it might not be for everyone.
