How it feels in the handWith the specs out of the way, let’s talk about what really matters – how it feels in the hand. In use, the X3 feels like a high-end phone. The FHD+ screen is bright and has no notch. The bezels are minimal for a rugged phone, and the grip feels good.

The phone supports face unlock, which worked well in our testing, and if you often wear gloves, it also has a glove mode that works in a range of thicknesses. This phone joins the ranks of many that don’t have a headphone jack — something I’m still totally unacceptable about — but for a rugged phone, that’s forgivable. Fewer ports means fewer points of failure, and the provided USB to 3.5mm adapter works fine.

Multi-band GPS isn’t that common yet, and we’ve only started seeing it on fitness watches in the past year or so. In short, it utilizes both L1 and L5 satellite frequencies to provide more accurate GPS in challenging environments like cities or forests. I can’t think of another smartwatch in this price range that has multi-band GPS. Cheap smartwatches often have longer battery life than expensive ones. Usually, this is because they use dim, low-resolution screens that use less power. This isn’t the case with the GTR 4, but Amazfit claims a battery life of 7 days with heavy use (i.e. multi-band GPS, always-on display, etc.). You’ll get about 14 days with normal use. For endurance athletes, enabling multi-band GPS will get you about 25 hours of continuous use, while regular GPS will get you 44 hours. Bottom line — you’ll get more power than a flagship smartwatch.
 That being said, I was able to get about 10 days of use on a single charge. Half of that time, I had the always-on display turned off and multi-band GPS enabled at all times. life longer, but with moderate use and an OLED display, 10 days is great. Charging time is not great. It took me about two hours to charge from zero to 100%. This is not the worst, but it stands out as more and more wearables now support fastAmazfit GTR Smartwatch Battery
charging. I am not a fan of proprietary chargers, but again, this is a problem in the smartwatch industry.
Feature OverloadThe GTR 4 has a ton of features. Depending on your needs, it might actually have too many. If I went into every single one, this review would easily be over 2,000 words.
