Pixel 10 Pro: Is it just about the Tensor G5?

The Pixel 10 Pro is set to officially launch on August 20th, and anticipation is already building. After months of teasers, Google’s next flagship will be more than just a routine update. At the heart of this update is the all-new Tensor G5 chip—a significant milestone for Google, as it’s the company’s first fully in-house processor built in partnership with TSMC. While this chip is a huge leap forward, it’s not the only noteworthy change. As the launch date approaches, more and more details are emerging, hinting at a broader upgrade to the Pixel experience.Possible Pixel 10 Pro Battery Specifications (Predicted)Capacity: Expected to be between 5000–5500mAh (the Pixel 8 Pro had 5050mAh, with the Pixel 9 Pro potentially seeing a slight increase).

Fast Charging Technology: Likely to support 30W+ wired fast charging and 23W+ wireless charging (a continuation of the Pixel 8 Pro’s specifications, or a slight upgrade).google Pixel 10 Pro Cell Phone Battery
Battery Life Improvements: Equipped with the next-generation Google Tensor chip (like the Tensor G4 or G5), it uses AI to optimize power consumption. Adaptive Battery features have been further enhanced.
Tensor G5: Google’s First Fully In-House Chip
The Pixel 10 Pro will now feature the new Tensor G5 chip, Google’s first fully in-house chip designed and manufactured by TSMC. Previously, Google partnered with Samsung to design this chip, but this partnership will reportedly be discontinued with the Pixel 10 series.
The new chip is said to combine proprietary design with selected external technologies. The Tensor G5 is reportedly manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 3nm N3E process, meaning it will be more energy-efficient than previous generations while also delivering improved performance.
But will the new chip really deliver all the cool features of the Pixel 10 Pro?
Rumors suggest the Pixel 10 Pro may support the Qi2 wireless google Pixel 10 Pro Cell Phone Batterycharging standard. Currently, it’s either a case like the Galaxy S25 phones, or a fully functional magnetic Pixel 10 Pro with charging similar to Apple’s MagSafe. Previous Google Pixel phones haven’t offered Qi2. Now, based on leaked dimensions and weight (all Pixel phones are heavier and thicker than previous generations), Google may be considering adding magnets to the Pixel 10 series. Of course, the increased weight could be due to the larger
Pixel 10 Pro battery, but it could also be that Google decided to include magnets to support Qi2. This speculation was further bolstered by a June report claiming the Mountain View-based tech giant is preparing an ecosystem of magnetic Qi2 accessories, possibly called “Pixelsnap.” Reportedly, it will include two chargers and a stand.
